What is sex therapy?

Sex therapy is Counselling supporting individuals or couples/groups with any psychological, interpersonal or physical sexual concerns. Sex therapy does not involve physical touching.

Why see a sex therapist?

Many people see Sex therapists for a non-judgemental and safe environment to discuss their experiences and concerns whether they are around sex or sex-related matters. Sex therapists have specialist training in how psychological, social and physiological factors affect sexuality and sexual functioning. 

Do you offer relationship counselling?

Yes,  you are welcome to attend as a couple/group. Couples are welcome to book a separate individual session alongside this process, should you feel it beneficial. Couples therapy will always aim to be safe, unbiased and work alongside you towards your goals. 

We are unable to provide counselling if there is family violence in the relationship.

What happens in a therapy session?

It can be nerve-wracking to see a counsellor let alone a sex therapist so we welcome you to take it at whatever pace you need to feel comfortable. The first session is to learn about you, your history and experiences and what your aims might be for therapy.

We utilise psychosexual interventions to support you to get to where you want to be.

What areas do you work in?


How many sessions are needed?

Sometimes only one session is required to resolve difficulties whilst other issues are more complex and require several sessions. Short to mid-term counselling is suitable for most people and some like to come back for top up sessions every six months or yearly to check that things are ok with them and their relationships. After our first session I can give you an indication of how many sessions may be needed but ultimately you determine this depending on how you feel.

Does my information remain confidential?

I am legally bound to keep your information confidential and not disclose it to others. There are certain situations however where I may have to share your information so you need to be mindful of this when telling me things during our sessions. Information will not remain confidential if:

What are your qualifications?

* Master of Science in Medicine (Sexual Health Counselling) - Sydney University

* Bachelor of Arts(Psychology)-Monash Univeristy


Do you work under a Code of Ethics?

Yes. I am bound by the code of ethics of the Society of Australian Sexologists Ltd. As a counsellor I am bound by the code of ethics of the which ensures I act in an ethically accountable way and I comply with the Health Complaints Act 2016 (Vic) Code of Conduct.

How much does it cost?

The cost is $180 for individual sessions and $195 for couples sessions. Payment can be made via cash, direct deposit or credit card.

Do you offer rebates?

Unfortunately, counsellors are unable to provide rebates. 

Do I need a referral?

Due to the above, no referral is needed.

When are you available?

Mondays, Wednesdays in Collingwood or online

Tuesdays 10am-7pm and Thursdays in Brunswick 10am-8pm

Telehealth is also available.
